Gang of Ten

Lindsey Graham

This morning we learned that an effort is underway that would essentially knock down the intentions of the #dontgo Movement. While the Gang of Ten, as they are being called, is not hot off the press, it appears they are still meeting and planning on pushing forth a bill that stinks of politics.

The Republican Senators joining this Gang are Lindsey Graham , John Thune, Saxby Chambliss, Bob Corker and Johnny Isakson.

As of now there is no solid evidence showing the Gang of Ten will succeed. Especially considering the fact that these Senators organized BEFORE #dontgo kicked off. I would imagine there are conversations going on that suggests the Gang of Ten should back off because Republicans are now dominating on the #dontgo issue.

But if the Gang of Ten sticks to its guns, even after a full week of movement style activism and center-right based rallying, I think a revolt against these Senators might be in order.

This is the part of the Gang of Ten plan that will enrage the movement:

That’s because the plan is a Democratic giveaway. New production on offshore federal lands is left to state legislatures, and then in only four coastal states. The regulatory hurdles are huge. And the bill bars drilling within 50 miles of the coast — putting off limits some of the most productive areas. Alaska’s oil-rich Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is still a no-go.

The highlight is instead $84 billion in tax credits, subsidies and federal handouts for alternative fuels and renewables. The Gang of 10 intends to pay for all this in part by raising taxes on . . . oil companies! The Sierra Club couldn’t have penned it better. And so the Republican Five has potentially given anti-drilling Democrats the political cover they need to neutralize energy through November.

When asked about the Gang of Ten, Dan Burton said that compromise is likely. The problem with this compromise, however, is that it essentially puts us right back at square one.

Which would be nothing short of another example of our Do Nothing Congress.

Thoughts?

The reliance, of this country, on foreign oil, has led us to an opportunity to take back Congress. But lets take notice of the other areas in which Americans have givin up control of their own destiny.

Reliance on public education to teach American’s Children.
Reliance on Main Stream Media to inform the Masses.
Reliance on the radicals to guide our Morals.
Reliance on elected officials to hold themselves accountable.

The #dontgo movement is among the leaders in changing things for the better in our Country. #dontgo is about more than energy and calling Congress Back. This is a battle in a war of values, conduct, morals and right. There are many fronts. We must stay alert and keep pressing towards freedom in the many issues that face us.

Despite the troubles that face us, America is better now than it ever has been. Our strength is displayed in our weaknesses. But we cannot allow our weakness to lead us into the future.

Vote, Give, Contribute, Volunteer, Post, Speak, Write, Move, Do Something!! It can and will make a difference.

Rush just hit it a few minutes ago. Republican cowards. Plain and simple.

Just called Graham’s office. This puts him at odds with McCain - who said he’d come back to DC on the issue.

We absolutely MUST call our Senators to quelch this.

I’ve already told Graham-nasty to get his head of his butt and quit using his belly button for glasses. He really has it up that far. I also informed him that recent events had spurred me to start donating, again, and his gang of 5 RINO’s put that on hold. Time for the RNC to withhold all funding for the 5 traitors, and they are traitors to the house.

Just sent of a message to my senator (Thune) telling him that I was in the process of writing my mid-month bills and his solicitation for more funds came to the top. I put it where it belonged–in the garbage. I can’t believe Thune did this. My money’s going to Tim Johnson–at least I know where he stands, even if I don’t believe in many of his positions.

I just don’t understand it! Republicans finally have an issue that inspires all Americans..regardless of party ….and the gang of ten essentially cuts us off at the knees. I am fit to be tied.

I just check out which states the guys are from. How much oil does South Dakota, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennesse produce? These are OCIS(oil consuming importing states). The last time I looked at a map, neither Tennesse nor South Dakota was near a coast. How do these guys get to write energy policy? Oh yeah, I forgot. The idea is to be controlled by a minority of greenies. How come none of the OPES(oil producing exporting states) senators are part of this. I guess that’s because they understand that being oil independent will create more jobs, reduce our trade embalance, create a strong dollar and denie revenue to terroriest states and tin horn dictators. Oh yeah, I forgot again. The idea is to create a paper tiger who has to go to the world with our hand out to beg for help.

At one point in time their used to be “lawyer jokes” just like we have jokes about blondes the clergy and many other groups worthy of ridicule. A lawyer joke would go something like this: A used car sales man and a lawyer both fall off a cliff at the same time, which one hits the ground first and dies? Who cares? I bring this up to make a point , no one likes lawyers, no one ever has. Yet the majority of politicians elected to office are “lawyers”. If you want to screw someone get a lawyer to write the contract . We elect these people to run our country and then allow them to dictate to us how we should live our lives. The American taxpayer always gets the bill. Judges(lawyers) tell us detainees at Guantanamo get lawyers, we get the bill. Legislation is written so it can be challenged in court by, more lawyers. The RINO”S in the gang of ten, none of which are up for re-election. (heard it on Rush, and haven’t heard otherwise) Does anyone think that was not planned? The proposal by the gang of ten is just another slap in the face of the American taxpayer. Do not forget the names of these guys. These people must be voted out of office. That is change.
